Leisurely
This course covers the syllabus in 39 lessons. Each forty minute lesson will cover at least one new topic, with constant revision, question practice and homework each week.
This course is aimed at students who are not in a particular hurry to pass Grade 5 Theory and prefer to work at a steady pace and take their time absorbing information.
The students most suited to this course will probably have already passed ABRSM Grade 3 or 4 on an instrument or voice, and would like to pass Grade 5 Music Theory in good time before a Grade 6 practical examination.
As the course is spread over a year, there will be breaks for some of the main school holidays and half terms, so plenty of time off and opportunities to consolidate what has been covered so far.
At the first lesson, each student will be given a ‘goodie bag’ worth over £20 containing a ring binder in which to keep all study material, a pencil case with a pen, pencil and ruler, and the first of two sets of flash cards, with the second set being given approximately halfway through the course. The flash cards include all of the Italian, French and German terms together with other performance directions that are required knowledge for the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory Exam.
The cost of the entire course, including the exam entry fee (currently £51), all study material including past papers, flash cards and stationery is £660, representing exceptional value for money. If you wish to pay the full amount at the time of booking, a discount of £25 is available. Alternatively, please pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 at the time of booking, and the balance by monthly standing order payments over the duration of the course.
